She knew it had been a mistake to watch that ok horror movie The Birds before going on this cemetary walk.

The raven flapped through the granularity of the gloom, its wings pushing it ever forward. Crow sat upon her shoulder, muttering into her ear, his words meant for her alone. There was murder to be done, but the identity of the victim was yet to be determined. It might even be her - as always, Crow was staunchly noncommittal - but it was more likely it would be someone else.

She became known as the bird girl. At night, just before the crows began to settle in the tall trees at the edge of the cemetery, she would stand silently, in the gathering gloom, as one by one each bird would land on her shoulder. Each would remain for a few seconds before flying up to perch in the trees above. Few saw the girl, but word spread around the village about her. No one ventured into the dark cemetery, however, to ask what was her purpose there.
